NEGROS ORIENTAL BUGLASAN 2023
One of the liveliest and most
culturally different festivals in the Philippines is the annual Buglasan
Festival, which takes place in Dumaguete City, often known as the City of
Gentle People. The Buglasan represents the colorful and multifarious traditions
of the Negorenses. The eagerly anticipated event is a week-long
celebration and assemblage of the best qualities of the towns and cities,
together with the uniqueness of their local cultures. The Buglasan Festival is
an initiative of many local government entities that aims to preserve cultural history,
promote tourism, and foster harmony among the diverse inhabitants of Negros
Oriental. This year's festival features a number of activities, including
two-night fireworks, street dancing, live bands, beauty pageants recognizing
the festival king and queen, trade fairs, musical performances, art festivals,
and culinary contests. People came to Dumaguete City from all over the country
to experience the vibrant atmosphere and fully immerse themselves in the
distinctive customs of the bustling city. At this year's Buglasan Festival, the
municipality of Mabinay took home the following trophies: Buglasan Booth Fair
champion, Best Exhibit, Best Street Dance, and Best in Architectural and Structural design.
Every
municipality has its own good practice, which is home-grown and springs from
the quality of municipal leadership, management, and front-line staff, as well
as from people who pride themselves on giving their best to achieve high
quality. Our goal is to excel in all areas for the greater good of the municipality,
Mayor Ernie T. Uy said.
The Sea of Clouds, Pandalihan, Panligawan, Mabinay Spring, and the Crystal Caves at Mabinay Booth—which are regarded as Mabinay's greatest treasures—can all be viewed at the same booth.
