Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG 2023)
The Local Government Unit of Mabinay welcomed the Provincial Assessment Team for the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) on June 19, 2023 (9:00 AM) at Mabinay Teminal Complex. Under the supervision of Provincial Director Farah Diba G. Gentuya, the team assessed the documents in compliance with the "all-in assessment criteria.".
According to Provincial Director Farah Gentuya, these criteria are continually updated and revised to emphasize the crucial roles played by LGUs in promoting ongoing improvements in the public's services and to continue persuading additional LGus to embrace the drive for good local governance in an effort to enhance and sustain reforms in local administration and service delivery.
During the exit conference, the assessors also announced their initial assessment of each of the criteria. The SGLG is the primary performance-based assessment program for excellence in local governance with ten criteria stipulated under the law, including good fiscal or financial administration or financial sustainability; health compliance and responsiveness; disaster preparedness; social protection and sensitivity programs; programs for sustainable education; business friendliness and competitiveness; safety and peace and order; environmental management; tourism, culture, and arts; and youth development programs.
The Local Government Unit of Mabinay expressed its deep appreciation to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) for Mabinay’s support and assistance in passing the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).
